Senior Full-Stack Engineer
- Built the real-time layer end to end: live GPS tracking of active trips and an in-app chat (web backend and frontend plus the mobile apps) connecting operators, passengers, and drivers over custom Node.js socket services.
- Shipped the passenger self-service subscription flow: in-app registration, package selection, and online payment through PayTabs, plus operator workflows for drivers, trips, and billing.
- Integrated mapping and geocoding APIs for route planning, location search, and map interactions.
- Established shared Vue components and composables for a bilingual Arabic and English interface.

Senior Frontend Engineer / Frontend Team Lead
- Became the primary frontend contributor and was promoted to Frontend Team Lead in January 2025, owning architecture decisions, code reviews, and engineer mentoring.
- Designed the multi-tenant foundation for client theming, permission roles, and runtime configuration, supporting dozens of distinct client deployments from one codebase.
- Delivered a schema-driven form builder and drag-and-drop page builder on SurveyJS and GrapesJS, then added an AI layer so clients generate forms and pages from a prompt and run AI screening of submissions before judge review.
- Integrated Stripe so clients can charge participants for submissions.
- Improved initial dashboard load time by 40% through Vite build optimization, route-level code splitting, and state-management refactoring.
- Owned frontend security remediation during the ISO 27001:2022 certification: moved auth tokens from localStorage to HTTP-only cookies and replaced vulnerable dependencies until the certificate was granted.

- Built the admin, client, and dealer dashboards in React: analytics, inventory, and multi-tenant listings.
- Developed the vehicle-inspection workflow: photo uploads, condition scoring, and a structured report that a listing has to pass before it goes live.
- Turned the Figma designs into a reusable React component library, which cut design-to-development handoff time by 50%.

What I Focus On

Four things I have done in production, with the product each one comes from.

Multi-tenant SaaS architecture

At Untap, one Vue codebase serves the admin, customer, and public experiences with per-client theming, roles, and runtime configuration, so dozens of client platforms run from the same build.

Real-time systems

At Routz, live GPS tracking and in-app chat run over custom Node.js socket services I built end to end, with mapping and geocoding APIs for routes and stops.

Frontend performance

Initial dashboard load at Untap dropped by 40% after Vite build optimization, route-level code splitting, and a state-management refactor, measured before and after.

Arabic and English products

Every product I ship works right-to-left and left-to-right from the same code: shared components at Routz, next-intl routing on Zads and Fleet Billing, Arabic typography done properly.

I’m Sayed Esmail, a Senior Frontend / Full-Stack Engineer in Cairo. I started in 2014 building WordPress and Shopify sites for agencies in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar, moved into product work at Botme and AutoTager, and have built and led the frontends of SaaS platforms since 2022: Untap, where I led the frontend team, and now Routz at Schoolz. I studied philosophy before I wrote code, which is probably why I care about naming things well.
